Mr. Adam Maher serves as Founder & CEO of Ursa Space Systems Inc (Ursa), whose services empower users to make better decisions with better data.   He founded Ursa in 2014 to develop a vision of connecting people to information rich data derived from synthetic aperture radar.  Previously, Adam worked at MAXAR (Space Systems Loral) as a system engineer for complete satellite builds, additionally working on efforts in space robotics, electric propulsion, Earth observation, and government programs. Adam holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Master of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, from Cornell University.

Adrian Knauer is a Senior Data Scientist at Kpler. With a background in Geography, Environmental Sciences and Geoinformatics. Adrian is focused on applying data science to satellite imagery. 
Before joining Kpler he used to work for the German Aerospace Center and in two different InsureTech Startups.

Augustin Prate is Chief Product Officer at Kayrros, a leader in earth observation and digital MRV which he joined shortly after its foundation six years ago.  He leads the product teams, using AI to analyze satellite imagery and other data and create the trusted measurements we need to reduce our greenhouse gas footprint, protect ecosystems and accelerate the energy transition. Kayrros clients include governments, financial institutions, energy companies and large energy consumers. Prior to joining Kayrros, Augustin Prate was a Quant Researcher and LNG trader at BP for 7 years in London and Houston. He is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Columbia University.

Dr. Christian Haselwimmer is Senior Remote Sensing Scientist within the Biodiversity and Geospatial Team of Chevron’s Oil, Products, and Gas Organization. He provides technical consulting, data analytics services, and strategic/technical leadership of R&D activities focused on the applications of remote sensing and earth observation to environmental monitoring across Chevron’s traditional and new energies businesses. Christian has a PhD in Geological Remote Sensing from Imperial College London and an MSc in Remote Sensing from University College London. He is currently the chair for the Geological Remote Sensing Group North America Chapter

Beth leads the team responsible for developing the UK’s role as a global leader in Earth Observation. She is delegate to the ESA Programme Board for Earth Observation under which UK has the TRUTHS mission and many other interests.  Her team lead the UKSA EO Technology development programme, the Microcarb Mission, input to Copernicus and the EO data architecture activities and they will chair CEOS for the 2024/25 period.  Beth chairs the UK Space 4 Climate which first bought space to COP26  to showcase new tools and technologies using the power of space for climate action.

Daniel Grimwood-Bird is Head of Sales & Marketing at McKenzie Intelligence Services, a global provider of Geospatial Intelligence for the insurance ecosystem. For over two decades, Daniel has been instrumental in collaborating with leading insurance carriers to enhance their utilization of technology and data to optimise outcomes. His broad experience spans the entire insurance value chain, having worked across GIS and catastrophe response, AI & ML, UBI, enhancing underwriting and pricing through unique datasets, and distribution.

Daniel Seidel, co-founded LiveEO with Sven Przywarra in 2018, serves as Co-CEO. He holds a Master's in Space Engineering from RWTH Aachen University and has an innovative background, including an aerodynamics patent from his time at BMW. Alongside Sven, Daniel hosts the "NewSpaceVision" podcast, enriching the space sector's community. Leading a team of over 100 at LiveEO, their mission is to unlock the full potential of earth observation data. Daniel is a firm believer in the future-shaping power of earth observation, predicting its impact on all major industries within the next decade.

Dr. Dalia B. Kirschbaum is the Director of the Earth Sciences Division at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD. As Director she manages a staff of 200 civil servants and 1200 people serving as contractors, technicians, support staff and those on cooperative agreements, all dedicated to studying the Earth as an integrated system that includes the atmosphere, oceans, biosphere, cryosphere, and geosphere.Prior to this role, she was Chief of the Hydrological Sciences Laboratory, a group of scientists focused on conducting large-scale hydrological science research using data from NASA’s satellites, land surface models, and fieldwork. She also served as the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Mission Deputy Project Scientist for Applications, and on the Atmosphere Observing System (AOS) Science and Applications Leadership Team.

Dongyoung Kim received his Ph.D degree from the Dept. of CSE at Seoul National University in 2019, with a focus on neural network optimization. Subsequently, he worked at Hyperconnect and SAIT, where he was involved in the development of on-device AI algorithms and research on software/hardware co-optimization of neural networks. Currently, he serves as the CEO of Meissa Planet. He leads the development of user-tailored satellite image and spatial information analysis services based on AI, extracting meaningful insights from spatial data to provide value.

Erik Swan leads the HUGSI.green initiative at Husqvarna Group, based in Huskvarna, Sweden. He has been working for the Husqvarna Group since 2018 where he has held various positions. Erik is part of several initiatives exploring new services and business models for Husqvarna Group where digital is an enabling factor.

Francis designs solutions at the intersection of science, technology, and business. Prior to joining Vizzuality, Francis worked on climate, data, and technology projects for organizations such as the World Resources Institute, the World Bank, National Geographic Society, and New America. Francis works to understand complex systems to identify what action needs to be taken to create the change that’s urgently needed to make our world sustainable and fair.

Gilles has worked as a Data Scientist for several companies before joining Axa Climate where he focuses on estimating climate risks for the agricultural sector.

James leads the Science team at Climate X and focuses on on developing climate and hazard models. He has a PhD in Earth Observation focusing on the generation of Essential Climate Variables and wildfire research.

Jarkko Antila is the CEO of Kuva Space, a pioneering Finnish Earth observation newspace company. He has a strong background in deep-tech entrepreneurship and a proven track record in product innovation, fundraising, and effective leadership. Jarkko's experience includes leading technology teams at renowned organizations like the Finnish Research Center (VTT) and Inficon. He co-founded Spectral Engines, a successful spectral sensor company, where he served as CEO for six years before its exit. With a Master's degree in Space Technology, he has been involved in various space projects, including the development of hyperspectral payloads for satellite missions such as OMI and Aalto-1. Jarkko brings his extensive expertise and passion for space technology to drive innovation and business growth at Kuva Space.

Jasmin is the Vice President and Head of Earth Observation and Corporate Development at ASTERRA, where she spearheads the formulation and execution of the company's Earth Observation strategy. With a keen focus on cutting-edge technologies and solutions, she leads the development and implementation of ASTERRA's initiatives in Earth Observation. Jasmin drives market expansion and cultivates strategic partnerships, playing a pivotal role in steering ASTERRA's trajectory toward growth and innovation. Jasmin brings a wealth of experience, having spent nearly a decade at Israel's renowned defense provider, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. As the Director of Marketing and Business Development, she led initiatives concentrating on intelligence, space, and cyber defense solutions. Jasmin holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Ben Gurion University, Israel, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.

Jean-Francois Gauthier is a mechanical engineer and lifelong space geek. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Dalhousie University and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also a graduate of the International Space University’s Summer Session Program (2006). Before joining GHGSat, he accumulated over 15 years of experience in the commercial space industry in various capacities at COM DEV including design and test, project management, engineering management, and sales and marketing. In October 2016, he joined GHGSat to help commercialize the products and services from their breakthrough satellites around the world and build the sales and marketing organization. He is now responsible for guiding the strategy of the company and leads corporate development activities.

Jeff is an early stage deep tech investor across the US/UK/EU specializing in space and defense.

Josh is a global expert and leader in climate tech, geospatial AI and sustainable finance, as a published author and entrepreneur across climate tech, sustainable finance and geospatial analytics. Josh founded Sust Global, a geospatial AI company building climate risk models and analytics for investors. He and his work are quoted in publications such as the FT, TechCrunch and Reuters.

Dr. Kate Fickas is the Esri Director of Imagery and Remote Sensing Solutions. With background as both a remote sensing product producer and end user, she employs her interdisciplinary expertise in satellite, drone, and lidar remote sensing, GIS, statistical modeling, and machine learning, to develop user and solution driven approaches to cross-industry applications. With her dynamic industry experience ranging from academic research to commercial and government work, Kate is passionate about storytelling and creating authentic, inclusive communities of practice who employ imagery and remote sensing technology to solve the world’s most complex challenges.

Laurent Sabatié is the co-founder and Executive Director of Skyline Partners, a company that specializes in parametric insurance. Leveraging proprietary technology derived from satellite data, SkyLine serves a catalyst for brokers, re/insurers, underwriting agents, and affinity partners.

Lénaïc Grignard is manager of strategic initiatives in AB Agri, member of the board of Sustain, one of AB Agri numerous businesses. AB Agri operates along the entire food industry supply chain - producing and supplying animal feed and a range of value-added services to farmers, feed and food manufacturers, processors and retailers. AB Agri is part of Associated British Food, a diversified international food, ingredients and retail group with sales of £13.9bn, 128000 employees and operations in 53 countries. Lénaïc holds a master degree in Agricultural sciences engineering from the Institut Agro Montpellier. She has 20 years of experience in defining strategies and turning them into product and services and business development to serve the agriculture value chain and improve its risk management and operations efficiency, valuing remote sensing - among other data. She has collaborated with institutions such as IRSTEA and held executive roles within EarthDaily Agro (formely GEOSYS) and Delair and Alteia where she built the agriculture business lines.

Marco is the Co-Founder and CEO of Chloris Geospatial, a space tech company focusing on natural capital applications.  An experienced sustainability executive and entrepreneur, Marco has a unique combination of business and science experience. Prior to founding Chloris, Marco was the first Executive Director of the Tropical Forest Alliance at the World Economic Forum in Geneva, a Senior Expert with McKinsey & Company’s sustainability practice in Toronto and Rome, and a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University. He holds a Ph.D. in Forest Sciences from the University of British Columbia, and Laurea in Forest Sciences from the University of Florence, Italy.

Martina Ecker is a managing director in Citi's Clean Energy Transition team for investment banking located in London. This team works with European Climate Tech companies and supports them in financing and M&A situations. Martina has almost 30 years of corporate finance experience having worked amongst other at KPMG Corporate Finance, Jefferies and Lincoln International before joining Citi.

Massimiliano leads Planet operations in EMEA and the global imagery and new missions engineering team, and has over 20 years of experience in integrating and operating ground segment systems for Earth Observation satellites. He joined RapidEye in 2006 and since 2011 has been responsible for the ongoing success of RapidEye Mission Operations. Additionally, Massimiliano played a key role in developing ground segment systems from concept to routine operations, and built a team that successfully completed a number of multimillion data delivery projects.

Mila is an experienced leader, researcher, and consultant with a global track record in startups, driving research, innovation, and product development. Skilled in leading international teams, she has strong expertise in infrared spectroscopy, remote sensing, and environmental modelling. Mila actively contributes to international accreditation efforts and pioneering protocols for soil quality testing and sensor technology.

Michal Shimoni is an award-winning data scientist with expertise in advanced machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning, multi-sensor imaging, 3D and physical modelling, and space- and airborne sensor payload design. Throughout her career, she has become a leading expert in several research and development programs of the European Commission, the European Space Agency, NATO, and the European Defence Agency. Michal is currently the Director of Analytics and Applications at the Finnish space-tech company Kuva Space, where she leads the development of the AI-based toolbox and analytic products. She is also an active senior member of the IEEE, where she is an associate editor of IEEE-GRSL and was engaged as a program chair at several scientific conferences, including the IEEE's flagged conference IGARSS in 2021.

Morag joined AiDash in 2022, stepping into the role of Customer Success Manager for Europe. She is at the forefront of supporting customers with onboarding and integrating their insights to elevate the BNGAI product. Previously at EY, Morag led the sustainable supply chain initiative in the UK and played a pivotal role in shaping the EY sustainability strategy, supporting the EY Global Vice Chair of Sustainability and contributing to EY’s impact at COP26.

With more than 10+ years of experience in EO and ML, I currently oversee ethical deployments of AI innovations within the banking sector. I specialise in climate/nature/transition FinTech and data ethics for sustainable generative AI. Outside my main role of AI assurance lead I also contribute to AI-focused research programmes in several Centres of Excellence in the City looking into how technological and regulatory instruments can help to reduce algorithmic and data-driven ‘greenwashing’, ‘fairwashing’ and other types of fraud in finance.

Nerea Vadillo, who holds a PhD in Mathematics, has been involved in underwriting parametric risk at AXA Climate for over five years. Initially working for the APAC region, she now heads the technical stream of the Public Sector Consulting team. She has participated into the development of flood and drought insurance solutions for both urban and rural areas across Africa, Latin America, and APAC.

As a geosciences PhD holder, he serves as Shell’s Principal Technical Expert (PTE) in Remote Sensing. His passion for Earth Observation is matched by his proficiency in optical and SAR Remote Sensing, computer vision, and pattern recognition. Focused on the energy industry, he adeptly applies remote sensing to enhance data analysis and operational efficiency. His track record is marked by impactful solutions that leverage advanced technologies to navigate environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices.

Dr Paul Young is the CTO and co-founder of Kita, the carbon insurance specialist. Kita’s purpose is to accelerate investment in high-quality carbon sequestration projects with insurance products that reduce transaction risk and safeguard the performance of carbon credit investments.  Paul holds a PhD in Cosmology and has twenty-seven years of experience in asset management, FinTech and data science. Before Kita, this included co-founding a hedge fund, oversight of multi-billion-dollar AI-driven investment portfolios and culminating with the co-founding of an AI-based fintech startup that Nasdaq successfully acquired in 2017

Pedro is an experienced research scientist with a background in earth observation, forestry engineering, and ecology. He is currently a senior EO research scientist at Sylvera Ltd. and is leading the development of remote sensing applications to monitor nature-based solutions aiming to mitigate climate change. Prior to joining Sylvera Ltd., he worked for over a decade in academia (UK’s National Centre for Earth Observation; University of Leicester; Kyoto University). He also worked in the forestry industry in Spain (ENCE group) and the international development cooperation sector in Vietnam (German Development Agency - GIZ).

Phil directs the geospatial function at BeZero Carbon, the carbon ratings agency. His team combines remote sensing, field ecology, machine learning and statistics to assess risk for carbon projects around the world. Phil has published extensively on forest carbon and other ecosystem services, biodiversity priorities and conservation effectiveness. His research and commentary have appeared in Nature, Science, National Geographic, the Guardian, and the World Economic Forum, among others. Phil is an Honorary Fellow at the University of York, Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and member of the IUCN Climate Change Specialist Group.

Dr. Pooja Mahapatra is an experienced geo-data expert with a passion for using technology to address climate and infrastructure challenges. She is currently the Global Lead for Climate & Nature at Fugro, focusing on climate resilience and biodiversity applications. She holds a PhD in satellite earth observation from the Delft University of Technology, and has worked within diverse organisations – start-up, research institute, space agency and large multinational – prior to joining Fugro. She is a board member of the World Geospatial Industry Council and the graduate geospatial educational programme at the University of Twente. She is a recognised thought leader in the field.

Serena has 15+ years of experience in research & innovation, with a focus on deploying technology based on large datasets, AI and data science. In South Pole she works on the adoption of EO-based digital products to accelerate Nature Based Solutions at scale. Serena is an experienced R&D project manager. Prior to South Pole, she worked at TNO (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research), leading research programs for the Dutch Airforce and Ministry of Defense on the innovation of intelligence processes through AI and automation. Serena holds a PhD in particle physics (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) for her research at CERN.

Sei Cabrol, a French-born visionary, now leads a nomadic life with his family, globally pioneering in ClimateTech, NatureTech, and Preventive HealthTech. At Everimpact he is leading the development of a first of its kind Real Time CO2 Emission Source Mapping, Quantification and Accounting at City Scale, providing Carbon Finance with End-to-end traceability capabilities.

Subit is VP of Technology at Floodbase where he manages a team of scientists and engineers with the goal of producing high-quality maps of peak flood extent relevant to the needs of disaster responders, flood managers, and insurers. His technical expertise and interest is in developing novel spatio-temporal machine learning methods applicable for large-scale earth imagery. He has a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida where his thesis focused on machine learning-based superresolution of microwave imagery for land surface and biophysical models. Prior to Floodbase, Subit worked as a data scientist at Indigo Agriculture and Telluslabs on machine learning-based mapping of crop types, regenerative farming practices and crop yields using satellite imagery.

Sushma Shankar is the Co Founder of Deep Planet. Sushma has 15 years of experience in research and development, engineering, and innovation. At Deep Planet, she is building a climate tech platform by starting with the wine industry and soil organic carbon monitoring. Using satellite imagery and machine learning, Deep Planet  enable farmers to grow high quality crops, and increase soil carbon capture. Sushma has an MBA from the University of Oxford and a Masters in Computer Engineering from Illinois Tech.

Simon Griffin is Technical manager of SOYL (part of Frontier Agriculture). SOYL have been pioneers in delivering Precision Farming Solutions on farm in the UK and beyond for 30 years. Simon first started using EO on farm over 20 years ago and since developed services for utilising imagery in different areas of crop management. A focus on the end user and practical applications on farm in works along side the development of data analytics to allow growers to gain insights from a combination of real time and historic imagery.

Vania Hernandez Bello is the Innovation Project Manager at Descartes Underwriting. She has over 8 years of experience in engineering & innovation, working in various roles across Europe and North America. She currently coordinates the Descartes Innovation team following up on the development of new parametric insurance products and managing the interaction with our tech-partners global network. Vania graduated from École Polytechnique, completing her master's in Energy Environment: Science Technology and Management (STEEM), focusing on environmental studies and renewable energy.
